Enquiries and Quotations
3.1 Enquiries
Submitting an enquiry or requesting a quotation does not:
- Require the customer to proceed.
- Require GoMovers to accept the service request.
- Guarantee service availability.
- Confirm a service date or time.
- Create a binding booking or contract.
We may contact the customer to clarify the service requirements or request additional information.
3.2 Information Required
To assess a service request, we may request:
- Item lists
- Inventory quantities
- Photographs or videos
- Measurements
- Pickup and delivery addresses
- Property type and floor level
- Lift, staircase, loading-bay, and parking information
- Access restrictions
- Preferred dates and times
- Storage or fulfilment requirements
- Building-management requirements
- Site-visit arrangements
- Existing item or property conditions
- Other information reasonably required for planning
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all information provided is accurate, complete, current, and not misleading.
3.3 Quotation Basis
Quotations are prepared based on the information available at the time of assessment.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Quotations are valid only for the stated validity period.
- Prices apply only to the stated scope of work.
- Service dates remain subject to availability until confirmed.
- Additional work may result in additional charges.
- Third-party costs may be charged where applicable.
- Quotations may be revised if the actual requirements differ materially from the information originally provided.
3.4 Site Visits
Where reasonably required, GoMovers may recommend or require a site visit before issuing or confirming a quotation.
Where a quotation is prepared using only photographs, videos, measurements, item lists, or descriptions supplied by the customer, the quotation remains subject to revision if the actual conditions or quantity differ from the information provided.
3.5 GST Status
GoMovers is currently not registered for GST and does not charge GST on its services.
If GoMovers becomes GST-registered, any GST legally chargeable will be reflected in the total price and stated in the relevant quotation or invoice in accordance with applicable law.
Service Confirmation
A booking is confirmed only when GoMovers issues written confirmation after the applicable confirmation requirements have been completed.
These requirements may include:
- Written acceptance of the quotation
- Payment of the required Booking Deposit
- Payment of any required Refundable Packing Materials Deposit
- Submission of information required for service planning
- Confirmation of building, parking, loading, and access arrangements
- Acceptance of any applicable service-specific terms
Written acceptance or confirmation may be provided by email, WhatsApp, another messaging platform, electronic form, signed document, or another method accepted by GoMovers.
A tentative date, verbal discussion, enquiry, draft quotation, or indication of availability does not by itself constitute a confirmed booking or guarantee that a service slot will remain available.
GoMovers may decline a service request before confirmation where the request is unsafe, unlawful, operationally unsuitable, outside our available capacity, or based on incomplete or inaccurate information.
Electronic communications may be used to form or confirm contractual arrangements, and a contract is not invalid merely because electronic communications were used.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for:
- Providing complete, accurate, current, and not misleading service information.
- Declaring all items requiring handling, transportation, storage, fulfilment, delivery, or disposal.
- Declaring fragile, valuable, heavy, bulky, hazardous, restricted, unusual, or specialist items.
- Providing accurate pickup, delivery, storage, billing, and contact details.
- Informing GoMovers of all relevant access restrictions, site conditions, and operational requirements.
- Ensuring lawful and reasonably safe access to all relevant locations.
- Ensuring that goods are lawfully owned or that the customer has full authority to authorise their handling, transportation, storage, delivery, or disposal.
- Arranging an authorised representative where the customer cannot be present.
- Following reasonable safety and operational instructions.
- Informing GoMovers promptly of any material change affecting the service.
- Making payment in accordance with the applicable quotation, invoice, service agreement, or written confirmation.
- Ensuring that items and premises are reasonably ready for the agreed service at the agreed time.
Customers should personally retain or separately secure:
- Cash
- Jewellery
- Keys
- Medication
- Identification documents
- Confidential records
- Important personal documents
- Other irreplaceable or highly valuable personal items
unless a specific written arrangement has been expressly agreed with GoMovers.
Where the customer appoints an authorised representative, contact person, building representative, recipient, or other person to provide access, approve work, receive goods, or give instructions, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the person has sufficient authority to act.
GoMovers may reasonably rely on instructions, confirmations, approvals, and information provided by the customer or an authorised representative using the contact details supplied for the relevant service.
Where the customer provides personal data or contact information relating to another person, such as a delivery recipient or authorised representative, the customer must ensure that they are authorised to provide that information for the relevant service and communication purposes.
5.1 Existing Damage and Defects
Before the service begins, customers must inform GoMovers of any known:
- Existing damage
- Cracks or scratches
- Loose fittings
- Weak or unstable furniture
- Fragile surfaces
- Water damage
- Rust or deterioration
- Electrical or mechanical faults
- Previous repairs
- Missing components
- Structural weakness
- Other conditions that may affect safe handling
Customers should not wait until after completion of the service to report damage, weakness, or defects that existed before GoMovers handled the item or entered the relevant area.
5.2 Inspection and Documentation
GoMovers may inspect, photograph, or otherwise record the condition of goods, furniture, equipment, walls, flooring, lifts, access areas, or premises before or during the service.
If our team identifies existing damage, weakness, instability, unsafe conditions, or another concern that does not appear to have been caused by GoMovers, we may:
- Pause the relevant work.
- Photograph or otherwise record the condition.
- Contact the customer or authorised representative.
- Request instructions or acknowledgement before continuing.
- Take reasonable protective measures where appropriate.
- Decline to handle the item or continue the relevant work where doing so may be unsafe or likely to cause further damage.
Such photographs, records, communications, or acknowledgements are intended to document the condition observed and do not constitute an admission of liability.
Access and Site Conditions
Customers must disclose relevant access and site conditions before the booking is confirmed.
This includes:
- Staircase access
- Lift availability
- Lift dimensions or restrictions
- Narrow corridors or entrances
- Long carrying distances
- Restricted loading areas
- Parking limitations

- Parking permission
- Security access
- Entry passes
- Required permits
- Any refundable deposits required by building management
Parking fees, loading-bay charges, building charges, permits, tolls, access fees, and similar third-party costs may be payable by the customer unless expressly included in the quotation.
Additional charges or delays may arise where:
- Access information provided was inaccurate.
- Staircase carrying is required.
- Lift access is unavailable.
- Carrying distance is materially longer than stated.
- Parking or loading access is restricted.
- Staff must wait for access.
- Building requirements were not arranged.
- The actual conditions require additional manpower, vehicles, equipment, trips, or time.
Where the service cannot begin or continue because the customer or authorised representative is unavailable, access has not been arranged, required building approval is missing, goods are not ready, or lawful loading or parking arrangements are unavailable, GoMovers may treat the matter as customer-caused waiting time, rescheduling, failed attendance, or cancellation, as reasonably appropriate.
Any related charge should reasonably reflect the time, manpower, vehicle capacity, third-party costs, and other resources committed.
Changes in Scope and Additional Charges
Prices apply only to the scope stated in the accepted quotation.
Customers should inform GoMovers of any change before the service date whenever reasonably possible.
Additional charges may apply for:
- Additional or undeclared items

- Additional trips
- Additional pickup or delivery locations
- Waiting time
- Staircase carrying
- Long carrying distances
- Difficult or restricted access
- Special equipment
- Additional packing materials
- Dismantling or reassembly
- Special handling
- Disposal
- Extended storage
- Work outside the agreed schedule
- Customer-requested changes
- Third-party costs
- Other services outside the accepted quotation
Where reasonably practicable, GoMovers will inform the customer of any material change in scope or price and seek confirmation before carrying out substantial additional work.
Where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety, damage prevention, protection of goods, or compliance with site requirements, GoMovers may take proportionate action before obtaining confirmation and will explain the circumstances as soon as reasonably practicable.
Where the actual scope differs from the accepted quotation, GoMovers may:
- Inform the customer of the additional charge.
- Issue a revised quotation or written confirmation.
- Request payment before continuing.
- Complete only the originally agreed scope.
- Decline the additional work where resources are unavailable.
GoMovers may decline additional work where sufficient time, manpower, equipment, vehicle capacity, warehouse capacity, or operational availability is not available.
Packing Materials and Packing Services
8.1 Materials Supplied Before the Service
Where arranged, GoMovers may deliver cartons, boxes, tape, labels, wrapping materials, protective materials, or other packing supplies to the customer before the service date so that the customer may carry out their own packing.
The quantity and type of materials supplied may depend on:
- The accepted quotation
- Estimated requirements
- Available stock
- The nature and quantity of the items
- The agreed service scope
8.2 Reusable Materials and Equipment Supplied on Loan
Unless expressly stated in writing as sold to the customer, reusable cartons, crates, wardrobe boxes, plastic bins, moving blankets, trolleys, packing tools, and other reusable materials or equipment supplied by GoMovers remain the property of GoMovers and are provided on a temporary loan basis.
Delivery or use of such materials does not transfer ownership to the customer.
8.3 Consumable Packing Materials
Consumable packing materials may include tape, labels, wrapping paper, protective film, bubble wrap, and similar materials intended to be applied or consumed during packing.
Unless otherwise stated in the quotation or written confirmation, consumable materials properly used during the agreed packing or moving service do not need to be returned.
Where GoMovers expressly requests the return of unused or substantially unused consumable materials, the customer must keep those materials available for collection.
8.4 Customer Unpacking and Collection
Unless an unpacking service has been separately agreed, the customer is responsible for unpacking after completion of the move.
The customer must keep all loaned reusable materials and equipment available for collection and arrange a reasonable collection date with GoMovers.
The customer must:
- Keep the materials reasonably dry, clean, and accessible.
- Avoid disposing of, selling, transferring, or giving away the materials.
- Ensure that an authorised person is available where access is required.
- Inform GoMovers promptly if the collection address or access arrangement changes.
An additional collection charge may apply where a further trip is required because the customer was unavailable, the materials were not ready, access was not arranged, or the collection location was changed without reasonable notice.
8.5 Condition, Shortages, and Charges
Ordinary wear arising from normal moving and unpacking activities is acceptable.
A reasonable deduction may be made from the Refundable Packing Materials Deposit where:
- A substantial quantity of reusable materials or equipment is not returned.
- The customer refuses or repeatedly fails to arrange their return.
- Materials have been discarded, sold, transferred, or given away.
- Materials have been deliberately or unreasonably damaged.
- Materials have been heavily contaminated or made unsuitable for reuse through improper handling.
- Additional collection costs are incurred because an agreed collection arrangement was not followed.
Any amount deducted should reasonably reflect the missing or damaged materials, additional costs, and surrounding circumstances.
8.6 Customer-Packed Items
Where customers perform their own packing, they are responsible for:
- Using appropriate packing materials.
- Packing items securely.
- Protecting fragile items.
- Closing cartons properly.
- Labelling cartons where appropriate.
- Ensuring packages are reasonably safe to carry.
- Separating prohibited or restricted items.
- Ensuring that cartons are not overloaded.
GoMovers may decline to carry improperly packed items where handling them may be unsafe or likely to cause damage.
8.7 Optional Packing and Unpacking Services
Optional packing or unpacking services may be available at an additional charge.
Where such a service is agreed, the quotation or written confirmation should specify:
- Items or areas included
- Materials included
- Work to be performed
- Any exclusions
- Applicable charges
- The return arrangements for loaned boxes, reusable materials, and equipment
Payments and Deposits
9.1 Payment Terms
Payment terms will be stated in the applicable quotation, invoice, service agreement, or written confirmation.
Customers must:
- Pay by the stated due date.
- Use an approved payment method.
- Provide an accurate payment reference where requested.
- Notify GoMovers promptly of any payment issue.
- Pay any final balance according to the agreed completion or billing terms.
9.2 Booking Deposit
A Booking Deposit may be required to confirm and reserve a service.
The amount is not fixed and may depend on:
- The service type
- Total booking value
- Manpower requirements
- Vehicle requirements
- Materials
- Warehouse space
- Service partners
- Service date
- Operational commitments
- Other relevant requirements
The required amount will be stated in the quotation or written confirmation.
The Booking Deposit:
- Forms part of the total service fee.
- Will be credited against the final service balance.
- Will not normally be refundable after the service has been completed.
- Is subject to the cancellation provisions in Section 10.
9.3 Refundable Packing Materials Deposit
A separate Refundable Packing Materials Deposit may be required where GoMovers supplies reusable packing materials or equipment on loan.
The amount:
- Will be stated in the quotation or written confirmation.
- May depend on the quantity and type of materials or equipment supplied.
- Is separate from the Booking Deposit and service fee.
- Will not be used to reduce or offset the final service balance.
- Will be refunded after the loaned materials have been collected and reasonably verified, less any reasonable deduction permitted under these Terms.
9.4 Final Service Balance
Any Booking Deposit received will be credited against the total service fee.
The Refundable Packing Materials Deposit is separate from the service fee and will not be deducted from the final service balance.
The customer must pay the remaining service balance in accordance with the applicable quotation, invoice, service agreement, or written confirmation.
9.5 Refund of Packing Materials Deposit
After the loaned packing materials have been collected and reasonably verified, GoMovers will refund the Refundable Packing Materials Deposit, less any reasonable deduction permitted under these Terms.
Refunds will normally be made:
- To the original payer; or
- Through another agreed payment method.
GoMovers may request payment details or confirmation before processing the refund.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment method, the relevant bank or payment provider, weekends, public holidays, and any verification requirements.
GoMovers will process an approved refund within a reasonable period after collection, verification, and receipt of any payment information reasonably required.
9.6 Refundable Deposit Deductions
Where GoMovers makes a deduction from the Refundable Packing Materials Deposit, the customer will be informed of the relevant details, which may include:
- The materials not returned
- The relevant damage or issue
- Additional collection costs
- The amount deducted
- The balance to be refunded
Minor shortages, ordinary wear, or minor damage may be waived at GoMovers’ reasonable discretion.
9.7 Failure to Make Payment
Failure to make payment may result in:
- Booking confirmation being withheld.
- Services being delayed, suspended, or paused.
- Additional storage or administrative charges.
- Where expressly permitted by the applicable agreement and applicable law, temporary retention or withholding of goods or deliveries pending payment.
- Debt-recovery action.
- Other remedies available under the applicable agreement or law.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
10.1 Cancellation by the Customer
Customers should notify GoMovers as early as possible when requesting cancellation.
Where the customer cancels after a booking has been confirmed, the Booking Deposit may be retained in whole or in part where GoMovers has already:
- Reserved manpower.
- Reserved vehicles.
- Reserved warehouse space.
- Purchased, prepared, or delivered materials.
- Engaged service partners.
- Declined other bookings.
- Carried out administrative or planning work.
- Incurred payment-processing charges.
- Incurred other non-recoverable costs.
The amount retained should reasonably reflect the costs, resources, and booking capacity already committed.
10.2 Reasonable Refund Assessment
Where cancellation occurs sufficiently early and GoMovers has not materially committed resources or incurred substantial non-recoverable costs, GoMovers will assess the circumstances reasonably.
Any refundable portion may be returned after deducting:
- Reasonable administrative costs
- Payment-processing costs
- Materials already supplied or consumed
- Third-party charges
- Other non-recoverable costs
A quotation or written confirmation may contain a more specific cancellation period or cancellation charge. Where it does, the specific written terms will apply.
10.3 Refundable Packing Materials Deposit After Cancellation
Where packing materials were supplied before cancellation:
- The materials must still be returned to GoMovers.
- The Refundable Packing Materials Deposit will only be refunded after collection and verification.
- Reasonable deductions may apply for substantial shortages, non-return, deliberate damage, contamination, or additional collection costs.
Cancellation of the booking does not transfer ownership of the loaned materials or equipment to the customer.
10.4 Rescheduling
Rescheduling is subject to availability.
Where reasonably possible, GoMovers may transfer the Booking Deposit to the rescheduled booking.
Additional charges may apply where:
- Resources have already been committed to the original booking.
- The new date has different operational requirements.
- Materials or third-party services have already been arranged.
- The customer repeatedly changes the service date.
- The new date falls within a different pricing period or operational schedule.
10.5 Cancellation or Rescheduling by GoMovers
GoMovers may cancel, suspend, or reschedule a service where reasonably necessary due to:
- Unsafe conditions
- Inaccurate or incomplete information
- Non-payment
- Unavailable access
- Unlawful, prohibited, or undisclosed items
- Serious operational limitations
- Vehicle or equipment failure
- Staff safety concerns
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Where GoMovers cancels a confirmed service for reasons not caused by the customer and is unable to provide a reasonable alternative arrangement, payment for the unperformed portion of the service will be refunded.
10.6 Failed Attendance or Inability to Proceed
Where GoMovers attends or commits resources for a confirmed booking but the service cannot proceed because the customer or authorised representative is unavailable, access has not been arranged, required approvals are missing, payment has not been made, or the goods or premises are not ready, GoMovers may treat the matter as a failed attendance, customer-requested rescheduling, or customer cancellation.
Reasonable waiting-time, transport, manpower, administrative, rescheduling, cancellation, or third-party charges may apply according to the circumstances and the applicable quotation or written confirmation.
Timing and Delays
Arrival, collection, delivery, completion, and dispatch times are estimates unless expressly confirmed as fixed in writing.
Service timing may be affected by:
- Traffic
- Weather
- Road conditions
- Vehicle issues
- Building access
- Lift availability
- Loading or unloading delays
- Customer readiness
- Delivery-recipient availability
- Previous service delays
- Warehouse operations
- Regulatory requirements
- Safety concerns
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control
We will seek to communicate material delays where reasonably practicable.
Customers should ensure that:
- Items are ready at the agreed time.
- Relevant persons are available.
- Access arrangements are complete.
- Delivery recipients are informed.
- Required approvals are in place.
- Payment arrangements are ready.
Waiting-time or rescheduling charges may apply where delays are caused by the customer, recipient, building management, or incomplete arrangements.

12.1 Dismantling and Reassembly
Furniture may be dismantled and reassembled where agreed and reasonably practicable.
Customers acknowledge that some furniture:
- Is not designed for repeated dismantling.
- May contain aged or weakened materials.
- May have existing defects.
- May rely on glue, worn fittings, or damaged joints.
- May require specialist handling.
- May not return to its original condition after dismantling.
- May not be capable of safe reassembly.
GoMovers may decline dismantling or reassembly where the work may be unsafe or likely to cause damage.

- Plumbing work
- Air-conditioning work

Examples include:

- Explosives
- Flammable materials
- Dangerous chemicals
- Toxic or contaminated materials
- Controlled substances

- Medical waste
- Live animals
- Unapproved perishable goods

Customers are responsible for disclosing relevant item information before confirmation.
12.5 Preparation of Furniture and Appliances
Unless otherwise agreed, customers must empty cupboards, cabinets, drawers, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, and other furniture or appliances before handling.
Customers must remove loose contents, secure movable parts, drain water where applicable, and arrange for qualified persons to disconnect any electrical, plumbing, gas, data, or specialist connection where required.
GoMovers may decline to move an item that has not been safely prepared.
12.6 Electronic Data
Customers are responsible for backing up data stored on computers, servers, storage devices, control systems, and other electronic equipment before the service.
Subject to applicable law, GoMovers is not responsible for data loss, software corruption, password loss, configuration changes, or loss of access that is not caused by direct physical damage resulting from a failure by GoMovers to exercise reasonable care.
Warehousing and Fulfilment
13.1 Warehousing and Storage
Warehousing or storage arrangements may be based on:
- Storage volume
- Pallet or rack space
- Storage duration
- Goods characteristics
- Handling frequency
- Receiving procedures

Customers must provide accurate:
- Order instructions
- Delivery information
- Product information
- Packaging requirements

Subject to applicable law, GoMovers will not be responsible to the extent that any delay or error results from inaccurate, incomplete, late, duplicated, or conflicting instructions supplied by the customer.
Specific rates, cut-off times, service levels, stock-reporting frequency, returns, failed deliveries, claims procedures, and inventory-variance arrangements should be stated in a separate fulfilment quotation or agreement.
13.5 Continued Storage and Uncollected Goods
Customers must arrange collection, delivery, or other authorised handling of goods within the agreed storage or service period.
Where goods remain in storage beyond the agreed period, additional storage, handling, administration, or delivery charges may apply.
If goods remain uncollected, instructions are not provided, or payment remains outstanding, GoMovers may issue written notice requesting the customer to make the necessary arrangements within a reasonable period.
Any further action concerning uncollected goods will be taken only in accordance with the applicable agreement and law.
13.6 Storage Conditions, Ownership, and Insurance
Unless the quotation or written confirmation expressly states that climate-controlled, temperature-controlled, humidity-controlled, refrigerated, or other specialist storage will be provided, storage will be provided under ordinary indoor warehouse conditions.
Ownership of goods remains with the customer. Storage, receiving, handling, or fulfilment by GoMovers does not transfer title to the goods.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that goods are lawful, properly described, suitably packed, appropriately labelled, and suitable for the agreed storage and handling conditions.
The customer must disclose any expiry date, batch-control requirement, product recall, hazardous characteristic, temperature requirement, regulatory restriction, or specialist handling requirement.
Unless specific insurance is expressly arranged and confirmed in writing, the customer remains responsible for arranging suitable insurance for stored goods.
Disposal and Partner Services
14.1 Disposal and Removal
The customer confirms that they own the items submitted for disposal or removal, or otherwise have full authority to authorise their removal and disposal.
Customers must accurately disclose the type, quantity, weight, size, condition, and any relevant risk associated with the items.
Additional charges may apply where the actual items differ materially from the information provided.
GoMovers may refuse items that are hazardous, contaminated, illegal, restricted, unsuitable for ordinary removal, or subject to specialist disposal requirements.
Once items have been authorised and collected for disposal or removal, they may be transferred to an appropriate disposal, recycling, donation, reuse, rehoming, resale, or other lawful channel.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, collected items cannot normally be returned, and the customer will not be entitled to any proceeds, credit, payment, or set-off arising from their later reuse, recycling, donation, rehoming, or resale.
14.2 Cleaning and Touch-Up
Cleaning, painting, repair, or touch-up services may be provided by GoMovers or service partners appointed by GoMovers.
The quotation or written confirmation should specify, where applicable:
- Scope of work
- Areas included
- Materials included
- Access requirements
- Exclusions
- Expected completion standard
- Reporting period for concerns
Cleaning, painting, repair, and touch-up results may depend on the existing condition, age, material, previous treatment, staining, wear, colour variation, and access to the relevant area.
Unless a specific outcome is expressly guaranteed in writing, GoMovers does not guarantee the complete removal of every stain, mark, odour, defect, or sign of wear, or an exact match of existing paint colour, texture, sheen, or finish.
Any concern should be reported within the period stated in the quotation or written confirmation, together with reasonable supporting information.
14.3 Service Partners
GoMovers may appoint subcontractors or service partners to perform or assist with transportation, warehousing, fulfilment, cleaning, repairs, disposal, specialist handling, or other related services.
GoMovers will seek to select and coordinate such providers responsibly.
Any material third-party terms or exclusions that directly affect the customer should be disclosed where reasonably practicable before confirmation.
Loss, Damage, Responsibility, and Insurance
15.1 Reasonable Care
GoMovers will take reasonable care when carrying out agreed services and will instruct its employees and service partners to handle customers’ property carefully and responsibly.
15.2 Existing Conditions
GoMovers is not responsible for damage that existed before the service or resulted from an existing weakness, defect, deterioration, poor construction, previous repair, or condition that was not caused by GoMovers.
Where such a condition is observed, GoMovers may photograph it and contact the customer before or during handling.
15.3 Reporting Loss, Shortage, or Damage
Customers should inspect goods and relevant premises before and after the service and report any apparent loss, shortage, or damage as soon as reasonably possible.
Visible loss, shortage, or damage should be reported:
- As soon as reasonably possible.
- Preferably before the team leaves the location.
- Otherwise, normally within 48 hours after completion for apparent damage.
Damage that was not reasonably apparent should be reported promptly after it is discovered.
A delayed report does not automatically invalidate a genuine concern, but may make it more difficult to determine when and how the damage occurred.
15.4 Supporting Information
The customer may be required to provide:
- Photographs or videos
- Item descriptions
- Purchase records
- Repair quotations
- Proof of age or value
- Details of the circumstances
- Other information reasonably required for investigation
GoMovers may inspect the item or obtain an independent repair or replacement assessment.
The customer should preserve the affected item and any relevant packaging and should not dispose of, materially alter, or arrange permanent repair of the item before GoMovers has had a reasonable opportunity to inspect or assess it, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent further loss or for safety.
15.5 Damage Caused by GoMovers
Where an investigation reasonably establishes that direct physical damage was caused by GoMovers or its personnel through a failure to exercise reasonable care, GoMovers will take responsibility and offer a reasonable remedy.
Depending on the circumstances, the remedy may include:
- Arranging a reasonable repair.
- Reimbursing a reasonable repair cost.
- Replacing the item with a reasonably comparable item.
- Providing reasonable monetary compensation.
- Another mutually agreed solution.
The appropriate remedy may take into account:
- The item’s age
- Existing condition
- Previous damage
- Normal wear and tear
- Repairability
- Current fair value
- Availability of comparable items
- Supporting documents
- The circumstances of the incident
Responsibility does not automatically require the replacement of a used item with a brand-new item.
Any compensation will be assessed by reference to objective repair cost or reasonable current value and will not normally include sentimental, personal, or special value that was not disclosed and expressly agreed before the service.
15.6 Matters Not Caused by GoMovers
Subject to applicable law, GoMovers will not be responsible to the extent that any loss or damage results from:
- Existing defects, damage, or weakness
- Conditions not disclosed before the service
- Inadequate customer packing
- Concealed damage within customer-packed cartons
- Overloaded or improperly secured cartons
- Normal wear and tear
- Inherent deterioration
- Manufacturer defects
- Customer or third-party acts
- Unauthorised interference
- Prohibited or restricted items
- Inaccurate or incomplete instructions
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
15.7 Insurance
Unless expressly arranged and confirmed in writing, the service fee does not include comprehensive insurance covering the full replacement value of all goods.
GoMovers is not acting as an insurer.
Customers should inform GoMovers before confirmation if they require specific insurance coverage, particularly for high-value, specialist, fragile, or commercially important items.
The customer may arrange their own insurance where appropriate.
15.8 Indirect and Consequential Loss
To the extent permitted by law and unless expressly agreed otherwise, GoMovers will not be responsible for indirect, special, or consequential losses, including:
- Loss of profits
- Loss of business
